*Mail In Rebates~Blah*
The hubby & I argued today....over stupid *mail in rebates* We had gone to Costco to just look around (I need to start walking around...Doc's orders). Costco seems to be having all these big sales or price reductions, or something of that matter....so anyhow, when reading the pricetags closely, you can see *IN SMALL PRINT* that the prices are based on a mail in rebate. I hate mail in rebates...c'mon now. Maybe other people don't see what the big deal is, but I had this really bad experience with Best Buy or Circuit City (not sure which one), where I had to mail in a $100 rebate......Chi~ Never got it, and that was like 2 1/2 years ago.....rebate smeebate.
So the arguements over and he can't stop teasing me on being silly regarding the rebate thing. I just don't like them. I mean you're still paying full price, and then you gotta fill out the damn thing and mail it it....and you don't hear anything til... like forever.... You even forget about it, until you balance you're checkbook or come short with finances and remember "hey, what ever happened to that rebate I'm supposed to be getting back?"
Like I said rebate...smeebate...Rebate, my ass!

What a wierd system. Sounds like a scam to me...
best buy sent me a rebate check once...it was for about $10. i think the higher the rebate, the less likely you are to get your check.
i hate rebate checks. just give me the damn discount now!
I feel ya on this one... rebates suck ass!!! such a waste of precious time and money... hehe... hey, I have another blog too if your interested... randomponderences.blogspot.com... more of my "deeper" thoughts... haha... sorry my other blog is so wonky right now... i don't think i've had any horrible experiences with rebates...
actually, i let steve deal with all things that have to deal with money. i can't handle it!!!!

LE: Yeah, I think it was Best Buy that I had that experience at...They suck anyway...I'm a big Fry's Electronics person. Not sure if they have any in So Cal though.

I hate the rebates that are like $1.50 and you have to spend 37 cents mailing it to get the damn thing in the first place! Grrrrrrrr... :P
Dell was awesome when I got my rebate with them, I was way past the deadline and they gave it to me anyway. It was cool.

I'm all about rebates. Some stores have the online rebates where you have to register (ugh), and then they mail you your 50 cents.
It's really just a trick to get you to buy their product. The companies know no one is going to send in the paper except me. :)
